Ledge
Ledge
The Ledge
You look to the sky
Praying that God is watching
Because the pride you once had
Has led you to leap to your death.
Heartbeats and heavy breathing have filled the air
And the sweet soothing singing of a flying by bird
As your feelings and worries have begun to sink in
The breathing continues but the blood gets thicker.
As you stand there innocently
Watching the transformation of the world
You think to yourself that you will enter a new world
But all that youre doing is beginning a new life.
You have decided to step back as oppose to forward
Because you think to yourself, that if you jump
You would be a nothing, you would appear invisible, absent, omitted,
but these thoughts form in its shadow, now-here.
As you step back in the way you came out
You feel a presence of pride which you thought you had lost
But in reality the only thing that was lost,
was the death of an innocent living thing.
