India Vs Pakistan

Why is there a conflict between Pakistan and India? Both of the countries have been in conflict between the issues of how gets the region of Kashmir. Before the British took over the India with is superior weapons and technology. During that time India was still in a feudal system were king and queen controlled regions. The southern part of India had a majority of Hindus and the northern part was mostly Muslims. Both religions have been at struggle for power since countless generations, but when India was taken control by the British both religions worked to free the country and as a result they became closer than ever before.

Mahatma Gandhi, a pacifist who helped win rights for people in South Africa came to India to try to help his fellow country men get rid of the British with peaceful methods like boycotting British goods, peaceful protests and other peaceful methods of revolution. Gandhi also believed in the policy of self suffice which meant that he made his own cloths. He led many marches like the salt march, which gave Indians the right to make there own salt. Gandhi was on the British hit list but if they assassinated him it would create more problems for them so they did not kill him. Do to the valiant efforts of Gandhi and other revolutionaries, Hindu and Muslim alike, India was now freed. But there was turmoil when it came to choose a prime minister.

The Muslims felt that since they were a minority they would be treated badly by their Hindu brothers because of ancient hatred and a plan. Because of this the Muslims started the Muslim league, which guaranteed representation in political aspects of India. The first prime minister of India was chosen to be Javar lal Nehru a Hindu. Because of this the Muslims felt the started of oppression so they started rebelling. The Hindus made an agreement with the Muslims to dived the country in to 2 different countries. The areas where there was a Muslim majority would become Pakistan and where there was a Hindu majority would become India. Gandhi accepted this proposal because he felt that it was better this way since if he didn’t there might have been a civil war where many precious lives would be lost. After India and Pakistan got their independence they became democratic countries because of the influence of the British.
